The difference is always exactly one day, which is the most common source of disagreement between two people counting the same dates.

A year has 52 full weeks plus one or two extra days; whether those extra days fall on weekdays decides between 260 and 262.
Public holidays
The calculator does not remove public holidays, because they differ by country and often by state or region. To get working days, take the weekday count and subtract the holidays in your period that fall from Monday to Friday. Depending on the country, that is usually somewhere between 8 and 16 days a year.
Weeks and months
- Weeks: the total divided by 7, shown as whole weeks and days: 55 days is 7 weeks and 6 days.
- Calendar months: counted from day to day, like an age: January 15 to March 20 is 2 months and 5 days.
- Hours: days × 24. Over a daylight-saving change the clock time differs by an hour, but the calendar days are the same.

Frequently asked questions
How do I count the days between two dates?
Subtract the earlier date from the later one. From March 1 to March 31 is 30 days. If you also count the last day – as for a hotel stay or a vacation – add one: 31 days.
Should I include the end date?
For ages, deadlines and interest, no: from Monday to Friday is 4 days. For vacations, rentals and events where both the first and the last day count, yes: Monday to Friday is 5 days.
How many weekdays are in a year?
261 in a common year that starts on a weekday, 260 in 2028. Public holidays then come off that number, and they differ by country.
Does the calculator handle leap years?
Yes. It uses the real calendar, so February 29 is counted whenever it falls between your dates.
