Gold: troy ounces, grams and tola
Precious metals are priced per troy ounce on world markets, while jewelers in India, Pakistan and the Gulf often weigh gold in tola. One troy ounce is 2.667 tola, and one tola is 11.664 g (180 grains). A 10-tola bar is 116.64 g, or 3.75 troy ounces.

American recipes often give butter, cheese and chocolate in ounces: a stick of butter is 4 oz (113 g), a block of cream cheese 8 oz (227 g). European recipes work in grams, so 200 g of chocolate is 7.05 oz – close enough to buy a 7-ounce bar.
